JOLIET, IL — MAY 12, 2025 — Professional sports car driver Christian Weir announced today his official partnership with DuPage Pads to host the 15th Annual “Drive for 155” charity endurance race. Scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Kart Circuit Autobahn, the high-speed fundraiser unites the motorsports community to raise vital funds aimed at ending homelessness in DuPage County [dupagepads.org, autobahnmembers.com].
Weir, a Naperville native currently competing nationally in the Toyota GR Cup North America, is leading the organization of the event alongside his karting team, Dark Mode Racing [christianweirracing.com, autobahnmembers.com]. The “Drive for 155” challenges 15 teams to a grueling 3-hour karting enduro, with a collective off-track goal of raising $155,000 to fund emergency shelter, permanent housing, and support services [dupagepads.org].
“Partnering with DuPage Pads to host this race is deeply meaningful to me,” said Weir, who has volunteered with the non-profit since 2019 [christianweirracing.com]. “As a racing driver, I have a unique platform to bring people together. Hosting the Drive for 155 allows us to channel the adrenaline of motorsports into a powerful engine for local good, ensuring our neighbors have a safe place to sleep and the resources to rebuild their lives.”
