After a top-ten result during the opening USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires event of 2023 on the Streets of St. Petersburg and his first career pole position just a few weeks ago at Road America, TJ Speed’s Christian Weir is ready for the Streets of Toronto. Competing alongside the complete USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires ladder program and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Weir will travel north of the border in one of the premier events on the 2023 calendar.
“There was some fear that I was going to miss the event due to funding concerns and while that is still the case for the rest of the season, I am anxious for a strong result in Toronto,” expressed Weir. “I have experience at the circuit in USF2000 and hope that will help me this weekend.”
With a pair of top-ten results in Toronto in USF2000 last season, Weir is excited to level up in classes and compete on the 1.786-mile, 11-turn barrier-lined street circuit in one of Canada’s largest cities and during one of the country’s busiest motorsports weekends.
The Illinois resident continued, “This is one of my favorite events of the season. Toronto rewards precision and aggression, and I hope to turn both traits into a podium result this weekend not only for my team but my supportive family and partners as well.”
Set to hit the track Friday for one practice session, Christian Weir will progress into qualifying that afternoon for race one. Saturday morning will see qualifying for race two which will take place Sunday morning while the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend goes green on Saturday afternoon.
