CHRISTIAN WEIR BRAVES THE HEAT FOR TOP-10 CHARGE AND TEAM CELEBRATIONS AT SEBRING

SEBRING, Fla. (2025) – American racing driver Christian Weir delivered a standout performance during the Toyota GR Cup North America weekend at Sebring International Raceway, securing the Hard Charger Award and a top-10 finish amidst a backdrop of major off-track milestones for TechSport Racing.

Driving the No. 71 TechSport Racing Toyota GR86, Weir battled grueling track conditions that reached temperatures over 90°F with a heat index soaring past 100°F. Facing a highly competitive 22-car field of identical sports cars, the young driver demonstrated precise racecraft and exceptional physical endurance.

Weir’s weekend highlight came during Race 2, where he sliced through the pack to gain six positions over the course of the race. This aggressive yet controlled drive earned him the prestigious Hard Charger Award and a hard-fought spot inside the top 10, capturing critical championship points for his 2025 campaign.

“Sebring is always a physical test, but this weekend required everything we had,” said Weir. “The TechSport Racing team gave me a great car, and being able to fight forward to earn the Hard Charger Award makes all the hard work worth it. We proved we have the pace to move through this field.”

The race weekend also served as a unique time of celebration for the team’s young driver lineup. While Weir had already attended his high school prom the weekend prior and was looking forward to his official commencement ceremony scheduled for the following weekend, one of his TechSport teammates was forced to miss their own graduation ceremony due to the racing schedule. To mark the milestone, TechSport Racing surprised them at the track with a graduation cake to celebrate both drivers’ academic accomplishments together.

Weir and TechSport Racing will look to carry this forward momentum into the next rounds of the Toyota GR Cup North America season.
